D N CONSTANTINI MAX AVG / R P around four seasons wreath containing VOT / XX in two lines. RIC 237 var.; Brenot 1978 pl. XI. Extremely rare and with an exceptional wreath on the reverse. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, ex Roma E-Auction 43, 3 February 2018, 817.

This remarkable reverse wreath type, depicting the produce of the four seasons, was initially uncovered in the Bikic-Do hoard. Examples from officina P and officina Q are known. It was meticulously studied by Brenot in 1978, who also identified the four seasons wreath in mosaics and ivory diptychs. Notably, this design appears exclusively in this particular coin emission. The present example from officina P is the sole known alongside the Bikic-Do coin.
